ADB Community-based Forest Resources Management Project (2000)

Davao City, Philippines
The principal function of the CBRM project was to prepare a project loan proposal for ADB that would dispense with poverty-alleviating measures in selected areas across developing Mindanao.  The primary work undertaken were intensive coordination with the DENR, and participating LGUs, particularly to specify and evaluate financial management concerns, fund-flow mechanisms and project management schemes.  An effective fund management scheme was also developed to facilitate improved financial flows among implementing agencies and donors.  The Project also prepared staffing plan and training sessions to improve the capacity of LGUs and local personnel.

Carmelray Industrial Park (1995 - 1997)

Calamba, Laguna, Philippines
The project was primarily intended to make the industrial estate management of the Park and its locators comply with the requirements of the environmental agencies of the government.  The project conducted a comprehensive environmental scan and monitoring of the estate, and accordingly established linkages with the industrial locators via dialogues and joint concessions or undertakings that promulgate compliance to governmental regulations and local ordinances.

Laguna De Bay Institutional Strengthening and Community Participation - Component 2 (2004 - 2006)

Laguna, Philippines
The LISCOP Project was directed at further strengthening the Laguna Lake Development Authority’s (LLDA) institutional capacities, functions and competencies, including operations management, performance monitoring, information disclosure and community support components, in order to promote the lake as among the healthiest, most viable sources of fish and potable water.  The Project basically provided ecological monitoring through an inventory of environmental elements, concerns and facts, and by conceptualizing the necessary infrastructure or facilities in response. Procedural guidelines, performance monitoring and evaluation rules, and other institutional regulations or policies were also updated in line with the desired outputs.

WB Chongqing Urban Environment Project - Design Review and Advisory Services (2003 - 2004)

Chongqing, People’s Republic of China
The project was designed to address pollution problems in the Chinese municipality by providing an effective combination of infrastructure investments and institutional reforms.  The project promoted a safe, sustainable environmental setting to complement long-term economic growth in select urban area via active support for the locality’s long-term urban environmental improvement program.
